Let’s hope they also add a sidewalk to the marsh street underpass @ the 101. Walking/riding that stretch of road sucks ass!

The underpass doesn’t suck half as bad as the corner at Higuera and Marsh. i can’t think of another bike bridge that is so badly needed. It’s like advanced dodgeball with multi-ton steel balls: Thrilling for me, but i can’t bring my girl along.

I’ve tried: “O.k. honey, we’re gonna cross these 2 lanes of accelerating traffic, then stand on that little meridian with the bushes on it. Then, were gonna cross the next 2 lanes, as fast as possible, because those cars are driving over 80 miles per hour around a curve, and they won’t see you. Then, we’ll ride on the edge of their lane, and if we’re still alive, we’ll go get drunk and forget we ever did all this.”

At least the underpass has a nifty dirt trail. i never actually ride the paved side of that guardrail. For the sake of priorities, i’d rather see the trail stay dirt until a bridge gets built over San Luis Creek. A cable bridge is fine by me, it would be a lot safer than the sick joke that’s built there presently.

This may literally save my life. Cutting across the corner of Madonna to Higurea can be dangerous. Today some fool on their cell phone was going too fast, didn’t see me and i felt the wind of the car as it swerved to avoid me and my out stretched turn signal/arm.

I like the idea of a bridge over the creek too.
