MAY YOUR NEW YEAR BE A FUCKING BLAST!
Who wants to help me build one of these?
Ha! Finally some fun public art in San Luis Nabisco. Keep it coming.
Post links to other SLO BIKE ART that you’ve seen around town in the comments below.
Regardless of what you think about guerrilla art, I just have to share things like this when creative minds combine art and bikes.
The Tall Bike Posse is doing it again.
After the overwhelming success of the 2007 BikeSHIFT art show, the Tall Bike Posse is gearing up for another BIKE ART SHOW.
BikEXPERIENCE : A circuitous journey back to your bike, will show during the entire month of May in downtown SLO.
All forms of bike art will be considered. 25% of sales will benefit the SLO County Bicycle Coalition. (Items not for sale will be considered too)
If you, or someone you know, would like to submit BIKE ART for consideration in this year’s BikEXPERIENCE Art Show, contact us at TallBikePosse@yahoo.com
The famous HopeDance Bike FiLM Festival, part of Bike Month, is going to be held on May 18 and 19th, 2007.
HopeDance is looking for spectacular bike-themed short films to show for the Friday night (May 18) screening of the winning entries (and with Beer!).
The short films should be original, short, 10 minutes or less and bike themed as in yay-bikes, or a very strong cars-suck message. We’re not looking for art here, just good old propaganda that will move the audience to go home and set fire to their SUVs. The deadline for submissions is Friday, April 20, 2007.
(bike happening encourages you to submit “art” films to FiLM fest & BikeSHIFT)
Call 544-9663 for details of how to submit short films.
1st prize: $150 cash (which may go up as the deadline nears).
2nd prize: $50 gift certificate to Bike Works
3rd prize: $20 gift certificate to ARTerty..
Saturday‘s Films (May 19) will feature “Contested Streets” and “PEDAL”
A bike themed art show promoting an awareness of bicycles in all of their shapes, sizes and interpretations.
Art-bikes and other media welcome. Submissions to the show are being accepted through April 22.
Come to the artists reception for live music and more.
Friday May 4th from 5-9 pm
848 Monterey (Old Pier One Building)
